Kaleidoscopic Kites Fresh Lemons pattern
 

Another member posted a quilt from this pattern that was so lovely I looked it up. It was perfect for a beginner. I used my leftovers from the blocks to make the binding.
I practised my FMQ on a domestic machine. It is still not of a quality that I will share a close up, but I learned a lot!
I did substitute purple and lavendar for the blocks that were to have been brown and light brown. I always prefer the bright colors. It has gotten me into a mess on some of my own efforts at blocks, but this pattern kept it bright, and kept me from going off the rails.

laurajbr, one of the great things about quilting is there are NO quilting police, but there are thousands of other quilters. all of them will encourage you and appreciate your efforts and applaud your success, even when you don't see it. this is for fun, and if we get better as we are having fun, well, lucky us!
your quilt is beautiful! i love the bright colors, too! would love to see the quilting! i'm never going to be a show quilter, but my family so far seems to like what i've done. 8-)
