Kansas Quilts for my daughters
2 Attachment(s)
These are quilts I just finished for my two daughters. The are the Kansas University Jayhawks and the Kansas State Wildcats. YES we had a house divided. Now they are both married and these will be their anniversary gifts for the happy couples. This is my first time doing applique AND I sometimes amaze myself. I think they turned out really nice.
I would welcome comments...both positive and negative....so that I can continue to learn on my quilting adventure. |
Both are wonderful!
Wow your first time doing applique? You should be very proud of yourself. They are wonderful. Sure to be loved.
Both of those are FANTASTIC! My house was a Jayhawk house (my parents met at KU). My Aunt Dorothy worked at KU and her husband, Uncle Fritz, played football and graduated from Kansas State so they were always in teasing one another.

I'm a graduate of Kansas State University, so I am partial to that one :) However, both quilts are outstanding. You did a wonderful job. A couple of lucky girls!
Absolutely terrific! You don't have a house divided, you have a house full of extraordinary talent and awesome diversity. They will just love it!

My goodness. Both quilts are wonderful! The show the result of your hard work. I'm pretty much an amateur myself, but I do appreciate the quality of your work and I know you spent a LOT of time and effort! The quilts are both beautiful!

Having a Bachelor's from KU and a Master's from K-State-I have to say that I love both your quilts equally. The Wildcat and the Jayhawk are so beautifully appliqued, I thought they were prints.
You did a fantastic job. They are going to be over the moon
They are both wonderful quilts!
Your quilts are exquisite! They will surely cherish them.
They both look great!
Wonderful quilts. I love how you did the blocks. Did you design the blocks yourself? Super job!
There will be two very happy couples when they receive those great quilts.
Wow these are the best school pride quilts I have ever seen!
both are wonderful--although being a KU grad 2x, I have to say, "Rock Chalk Jayhawk!" to that one--my DD is a K-State grad and would love all that purple and white! Did you make your own pattern? I haven't seen either around and living in KS I'm surprised I haven't--so figure originals? If so--WOW! You could sell either of those designs! Really nice job on the applique, too!
