Kate's Quilt and Cushion

[ATTACH=CONFIG]399140[/ATTACH]This is a quilt and cushion I have just finnished for a friends grandaughter Kate who was born last Monday. I have made around three of these Michael Miller Fairy Panel quilts but I just love them. Not too babyish so hopefully it will adorn her bedroom for many years to come.
I hope Kate's grandmother likes it as it is a total surprise, we are having lunch together on Monday so I will give it to her then. |

Love your quilt!! Growing up, we had one of Cicely Barker's flower fairy books that my sister and I read to tatters. Every time I see one of her fairies, I get all warm and fuzzy!!

oh wow! i hadn't seen these michael miller fairy panels. they're really great and you made a beautiful quilt with one of them! and you're totally right, it seems like a quilt that even an older girl will still love and cherish. :-)

I have that same panel and I love what you did with it. I need to make the panel into a lap size for an 8 yr. old and yours is a wonderful example for me. You did a beautiful job and she is going to love it for her little granddaughter. What a precious gift.

She will love it. It's so soft, sweet and gentle. Those may not necessarily be words to describe a quilt, but that's the feeling I get when I look at it.

Sometimes I surprise myself at what I decide I like when I look at all the pictures on this site. I am not in to fairies but the colors in this one and the big white flowers plus that brown binding make this one especially appealing (to me). I love the watercolor- look of the fabric and colors. I hope the recipient loves it as well. Nice, simple quilting!
