Here is my grandson's quilt top, finally finished. It didn't turn out like I had envisioned, but I'm pleased with it. I also made 2 pillowcases to match. Now I just need to get the batting, make the back, put them all together and get them to Oklahoma City for his birthday and Christmas (2 days apart).

I call this one "Colors of Utah" in honor of all the different colors in the sands and soils in Utah.

Thanx. I hope he does, he's going to be 17 and I wanted it to be "mature" and not frilly. I think I was successful.

Beautiful work. I really like the colors. Was it as difficult as it appears? Those small white squares in the center look like they may be pieced. Are they whole squares or pieced?

Great job! Nothing "girly" about this one! Nicely done!

I made this quilt with the chevron method found on Quilters Cache. The squares are actually triangles at the ends of the strips. I had to turn the strips to get the squares up the center (otherwise there would be the zigzaging up the center like there are going up the sides). Clear as mud?

I found the main fabric (marble looking) at a thrift store. There were about 10 or so valances in a pack for $5.00. Each valance was about 8' long.
