who's coming over?

man i hate basting.

it's much bluer in person. i like it, but would do it a bit differently if i were to make it again. the whites, off whites and baby blues don't really work for me. but! done :)

so...here we go!

(very traditional Amish quilting to come. excited!)

I like it! I like the contrast, but I am a blue person anyway. Keep going!

Can't come over unfortunately....but LOVE your quilt .... and would suggest that if you hate basting you give the Elmer's school glue method a try. Promise you....it works like a charm !!!!

lovely quilt

Nicely done.

Doggramma 07-25-2014 02:58 PM

I really like it too. It looks gorgeous, and I can't wait to see how you quilt it.

redquilter 07-25-2014 03:03 PM

Sorry. I hate basting also, but I do like your quilt.

Diane007 07-25-2014 03:31 PM

very nice quilt

I got out my water soluable thread and machine basted the quilt I'm hand quilting. It's much quicker and easier. Just an idea...

nativetexan 07-25-2014 04:17 PM

Oh but it's lovely. Seriously lovely. I like to spray baste with 505 myself. hate pin or thread basting. well, my back hates it.

Heather Hayllar 07-25-2014 05:05 PM

I love it, well done! instead of blues I think I would like purple, but that's my colour! :) Mind you any colour goes well with black and white! lol

very pretty!!!

I used to hate basting too, until I discovered basting spray. Now it's just a 5-minute process that absolutely prevents tucks on the back when quilting. Your combination of blues is beautiful!

Stunning quilt!

Gorgeous quilt!! It has a stained glass look to it that I love!

Yooper32 07-26-2014 06:31 AM

That is one stunning quilt! Opened my eyes which were getting heavy, woke me right up.

tessagin 07-26-2014 06:38 AM

Love the quilt and colors!

Koriana 07-26-2014 03:26 PM

Wow! I think it's gorgeous...quite dynamic. It inspires me to try this pattern. On the main forum yesterday, I saw a discussion of using Elmer's glue for basting. It sounded interesting, you might give it a look and see if it's something you'd like to try. I've never done it myself but I'm thinking about it for my next small project.

Pretty quilt

Hulalulu 07-26-2014 06:54 PM

We're most critical of our own work -- IT'S LOVELY -- hope you come to enjoy the quilt more as you quilt it...if not, just send it to me! LOL!

Spray Basting rules!!!!! Imagine being done with basting in 15 minutes or less. I do recommend having a helper and perhaps doing it outside to avoid getting spray on your floors, but I've done it on grass and it works great---as does doing it on a dollar store plastic dropcloth on your driveway.

Very, very pretty

#1piecemaker 07-27-2014 06:06 AM

mjhaess 07-27-2014 06:38 AM

Looks great...Love blue...

MargeD 07-27-2014 11:39 AM

I think it came out really nice. I'm with you on sandwiching and basting quilts, I like to make the tops and I like quilting them, it's the in between that gets to me.

matraina 07-27-2014 03:35 PM

I think it is beautiful!
