I'm learning to knit and I needed a bag to keep everything in. I found this pattern and the accessories from Butterick...I wonder if the person who writes the instructions even knows how to sew!

This blue set is for the lady who's teaching me to knit. I added a zipper to the top and thought the pockets needed velcro...knowing me I'll drop the bag and everything will scatter! I forgot tosew in the velcro so I used the stick on....hope it sticks!

I'm working on a red one for me.

I would recommend hand stitching around the edges of the velcro. When I used it on the flaps of some purses I made, it did not stay stuck very well with use.

Very nice bag!

Very nice bag!

Very nice bag! Just keep in mind that yarn and velcro don't work toether well. Yarns will get caught up in the velcro. Ask me how I know.

That looks fabulous - does it hold skeins of yarn around the outside?
And I agree that most patterns bought in packets like that are poorly written! I have heard horror stories!
