this is the whole top

this is the back, you can see the stitches, and there is still tails of threads to add more if you wanted...but I do not...I do love that I can see the workmanship from both sides!

as I can only do 5 pix at a time, I will keep adding the blocks as I can
this is blury, but it shows the souvenir ribbon that says : Souvenir 23rd anniversary of the A.O.U.W. Oct 27 Kingman, KS 1891! The AOUW is the Ancient order of united workmen. Google it, it is very interesting!

this block has two ribbons on it. The top one is Taffeta and says Simpson & Lewelling Redeem, KS. The bottom one is silk and says Chester I. Long. This could be a Mourning ribbon.

this block has what appears to be a horseshoe, but also looks sorta of like it has a needle, and arms,...I give up....any ideas?

Beautiful!

my DH says he thinks it is a horseshoe with a riders crop!
We also just found another ribbon on it that says "stand up for kansas" will be googling/researching that next! OH and on the back, we discovered one of the muslins must have been a slip or something as it has most intricate lace edging, still attached to it!

How awesome for you! I do agree with your DH about the horseshoe and crop/whip.

Oooooh... this is so awesome! I'm originally from KS & know exactly where Kingman is! It's so neat to see this coming together. I love it! Keep the pix coming please!!!

here is another block, this one has some nice flowers and wheat...there is lots of wheat, some are nicer than others, which makes you think that more than one person worked on this!

This block has a lovely bee on it, as well as other things

This block has the best of the wheat on it...and some blue/white flowers that are like they were cut off of something else.

this block has a strange pair of tools. we are guessing a sledge and wedge for splitting wood! Also the yellow axe..also used for wood chopping!

this block has several things on it, including a pair of owls. The fabric under them though is about all gone!

and again more flowers

this one has a larger flower on it that is quite nice

this one has more flowers!

this one has a very nice vine of blue flowers

I have not found a spider & web on it though..hehehhe
There is also more than one block that has a trio of interlocking rings! Could be a ranch brand maybe?
THere is just SOOOOO much to this!

Jacquie,

One that square with the horseshoe - look to the right and you will see what looks like 3 links of a chain. Another photo has the same 3 links of a chain.

Three links of a chain are the symbol of the "Independent Order of Odd Fellows": http://www.ioof.org/
