Tell me how you hand quilted this pattern. I can't see your stitches but would like to know how to do this one. I prefer hand quilting. And those patterns that lead me through construction and then say quilt as desired with no suggestions...... aughh!

Agreed! I always appreciate some suggestions in a pattern. I can then take them or leave them, but at least it's a place to start.

I stitched in the ditch around every piece. For the dark batik, angled lines about 1" apart, to match the angle of the piece and add to the depth:

For the light batik, I did ovals and circles roughly the size of a quarter:
And for the border, just straight lines about 2.5" apart. On the black, I didn't see the point in doing much since it wouldn't show up anyway.

It is very densely quilted, perhaps a little too much. I went through 2 complete spools of quilting thread on it, but decided an overall pattern just wouldn't work and dealing with each block separately added to the depth of the quilt - at least, in my opinion.

My son got a bigger bed a while back and I told him I would make a new quilt for him. I showed him a picture of this pattern recently and YES! That what he wants now. Thank you for posting, your quilt turned out fantastic! Any advice for those of us planning on making this quilt?

Be aware that there is an error in the pattern and make sure you have a corrected one. And I think it is important that the 2 main fabrics are the same color, but with just the right amount of contrast. Other than that, have fun with it! It's not as difficult as it looks if you just follow the instructions (which are quite clear) carefully. I will look forward to seeing your finished product.

Lovely quilt and good job on the hand quilting. My son asked for one of these, which I did in gray's and black, and it turned out great. I hated to part with it. After seeing yours, I may have to do another. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the information-I have not even purchased the pattern yet, so hopefully the one I end up buying is corrected :-)
