So I must be a horse as I get the most terrible night sweats, it is to do with the pain control I am under, according to my Doc, so I have a terrible problem some nights as the sheets stick to me and try to strangle me so one night I tried sleeping between two quilts, problem solved as the absorb the moisture and don't stick to me.
My present project is to make two complete sets of my designer bedding, to start with to see how I get on, this is the first "under sheet quilt" made from a very inexpensive duvet cover, got 2 sets for under £10/$15. It was a marvellous practise for my new clover stitch FMQ and my binding which I machine stitch using my blanket stitch on my Elna, looks a bit posh for a sheet I suppose but........... it's me :-D http://inlinethumb01.webshots.com/45...425x425Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb02.webshots.com/48...425x425Q85.jpg |
Great Idea! You are worth it!!

Great 'problem solving"!
|
great idea

What a novel solution. Attagirl!

Is it possible that the quilts work because they were cotton but the sheets didn't because they were percale....a poly/cotton blend?
I'm past that age-related glowing thing now, but have learned I will never sleep on less than 100% cotton sheets again! Ever. Jan in VA |

I am doing a scrappy prairie chicken http://inlinethumb47.webshots.com/48...425x425Q85.jpg http://www.prairiequeenpatterns.com/html/prairie_chicken.html 4 blocks makes a 36" square to I am doing QAYG using my top sheet for the joining strips, binding and backing, seems a good use of top sheets to me  |
WOW great idea!!! Your "sheets" are very stylish!!!!
|
Update, I have just completed half my top sheet and have used thin cotton for batting and for the backing, sashing n binding a top sheet from my bedding cupboard, quite pleased with it so far. It is going to be an ideal size as each quarter is 36", which is why I have done it QASG :!:

Nice "sheet." Love all the purple going on.
I use one of those reusable ice packs when I get hot during the night. It really cools you down quick if you put it on the back of your neck. Sometimes I take one to bed and change it out during the night for a colder one after the one I've been using gets hot. |

Don't you love old sayings? I was told ladies glow, horses sweat, men fart and women pass gas. If I was ever to say the "small f" word my aunt would have a fit. I've tried to instil that in my kids and they just laugh at me; all of thier friends say the f word.
