Last night I finally finished my new grandson's Lakota Star Quilt (his mom is part Native American). I had machine-pieced and hand-quilted it. Washed it in very cold water, to remove the quilting lines I'd drawn...and the dye bled on the star points. Boooooo hooooooo :( I had prewashed and thought all the fabrics were safe. Thanks to this board, I learned that Synthrapol might get the bleed out, but I'm still pretty heartsick.

That is a beautiful quilt. Did you re-wash it to see if you could get the blue out?

Beautiful quilt and great hand quilting, newestnana. Sorry about the color bleeding and hope the Syntrapol works. Regardless, it's lovely and I'm sure will be treasured.

Beautiful, If you didn't dry it in the dryer you might still get the bleed out. I've used the color sheets even after a bleed and some colors will still come out. Beautiful work.
