Remember you can always have them done at a place like Sure Copy. You can also go to Wal-Mart's in the computer section and they have some stuff you can print your pictures out on and then iron on the transfers. It will be ok. They are about 12.00 for 10 sheets I think.

Or you can just copy the pictures directly onto the special fabric that is paper backed or print them out on your computer.

What a beautiful quilt and what a great idea for a reunion. I've never heard of that before.Your sister is lucky to have her sister.

[quote=#1piecemaker]We had a family quilt at our last reunion and when my sister lost the bid, she cried. I told her not to worry. We would make one. I made it and gave it to her yesterday. She was sure surprised. [/quoIe]I would love to do this for each of my kids, what is the name of the pattern and how do you put the pictures in? I love the color of this. What a beautiful sister you are. I have three sisters and our baby sister is spoiled too. We grew up as sisters and are now best friends. Thx for sharing.

lgeorge, I used the double irish chain pattern for the quilt. I printed the pictures out on a piece of material then machine appliqued it on to the center plain block. I want to do one next inside the double wedding ring. You can be really inventive using your computer and scanning anything else you want or just printing something saved as a word document. (Like favorite poems, short stories about the family. When I do mine I have a wonderful story about my aunt that I am going to put on there. Good luck on your quilt. This is a very easy pattern to work with and to quilt. You'll have it finished in a breeze!

your reunion quilt has inspired me to try something for my husband. We will be married 50 years in Oct. 2010 and i would like to make a 50 year quilt for him with pictures of his family, my family and our family, we have three sons and eight grandchildren(granny8). Could you tell me where to find the pattern for your quilt..... i really would appreciate it...thanks so much...donna

there are lots of site on line with free quilt patterns quilterscache.com is one and McCalls has a site also. I have a book that has single , double, and triple Irish chain patterns I bought years ago and like it cause it gives yardage which has always been a challenge for me

It is a very common pattern and in most quilting books. If you can't find it, let me know I would be glad to send it to you or e-mail it.
