Katherine - Are you telling me that you made these two quilt tops in a week????????????????

I must be the slowest quilter around.....better speed up my act!!

Fantastic you must be very proud of yourself - Give a round of applause to Katherine!!!!!!! :D :D :D

Oh, those are wonderful Katherine! When I looked at the first one, I actually saw yellow flowers thru' the "windows"! :D I think I must make one of those disappearing 9-patches now too. Holy cow, the list just grows & grows!

Great work! They're both very beautiful.

MAXIES2 04-14-2008 09:26 AM

Thank you for your kind comments, they are only lap size quilts, the star one being for quite a large lap, the other will have a couple of borders to make it the same size, both are for birthday gifts. One friend has a narrowboat at the same marina we are in, the boat is dark blue with gold trim so she has everything to match that colour scheme on board so that gave me the colours for the quilt, her birthday is in June so will have time to finish it, then the next birthday is July.

Love them both. Have to try the split nine patch - glad to see it in the scrappy pattern too.

You do nice work and so speedy too. The colors in the 1st quilt are so bright and cheery.

I really like the scrappy look of your disappearing 9-patch. I'm working on one right now right now and it is fun and easy.

ISn't the "9 patch" fun??? I did some thinkin' to get the pattern I made but I sure like your scrappy!!! Neat design for all the little squares we always seem to have left. Did you cut the squares 6" ???

MAXIES2 04-17-2008 08:42 AM
