Latest Grandsons "Family Life Quilt for Nixon"
3 Attachment(s)
I have made this Family quilt for my youngest grandson for his first birthday. He joined 2 loving older sisters, and a loving Mom and Dad. I used photos starting from when Mom was pregnant and then when he was born up to his Christening in November and got it done for his birthday in February. His dad is a Carlton Football supporter, and the 3 children were quickly enrolled in the footy club here in Melbourne as well. so I used the dark blue and white. the Carlton colors. I printed the pictures all on the fabric quilting material I get from Punch and Judy in New south Wales. I like it better than the plastic type transfers as it holds up better. I like to put the name and Birthday on the quilts I make for new babies, as that will be a remembrance for the future for them.

What a good idea with pictures, name and date of birth and all. Beautiful result! I yet have to learn photo printing! Thanks for sharing

It is very easy and just follow the instructions on the packet and set the print resolution on high and works good each time.

Interesting and original composition. Love it!

Aussiegirl,
This is the nicest photo quilt I have seen. I love your layout and the personalization. It has it all, keeps the quilt/pieced look and the pictures integrate without upsetting that look. You make we want to do one of these for the first time! |

That will be cherished...
|
Beautiful quilt.
|
I didnt measure it but it covers the whole top of our King size bed with a little hangover on the sides. I usually dont plan on a size just keep adding blocks till it looks like I want.
|
Yep put the label on. I made small quilts for his sisters and they were more cot size and my daughter said they dont use them much. more of a keepsake. so this one hopefully he will get more use out of the back is just blocks. so he can use it either way.
