I decided to use very minimal, mostly straight line/STID quilting on this. Did some diamonds in the border. Doesn't show up much anyway, but I'm happy with the look of it.

I had seen similar things and made my own pattern using Adobe Illustrator.

Hello, I'm new to the group, and a confident beginner quilter. I know quite a few of the quilting world acronyms HST- Half-Square Triangle; but have never come across "mostly straight line/STID quilting on this. What does it mean STID? I love the simple block and quilting, because I can see some of the triangles in the border as well.

Sometimes less is more and this beautiful quilt is definitely a good example of it. Just simply beautiful!

cathyvv 11-04-2017 08:25 PM

It's delightful to look at! I think I might use that idea with two fabrics that seem made for each other but I didn't know how to make it work. Thank you!

STID=Stitch in the ditch: I just mostly sewed along the seam lines.
