Lattice Garden

I started this quilt about 10 days ago & it helped me get through the stress of my 43 year-old daughter's TIA. I worked on it at home because she was having tons of tests & wasn't in her hospital room for long periods of time. It was my stress-reliever during that time. I bought the backing fabric but the entire front, batting, and thread came from stash. It's about 46" X 58". The center squares are from a FQ that was "in your face" obnoxious & I wasn't sure I'd ever use it. I read a comment on this board that even ugly fabric can be usable if cut small enough. I took that to heart & found the FQ yielded 20 4.5" squares, perfectly sized for the centers of the blocks on this quilt. The sashing is narrow because I made a miscalculation when cutting strips. The tiny green squares are from the FQ that I used for the 2 middle blocks on the outer strips.

You did a great job with fabric you weren't fond of! Hope your daughter is doing well.

That is very young for a stroke, I hope she recovers fully and they find out the reason behind it so she can avoid another one. Your quilt is lovely, I love the colors, even the obnoxious one. :)
