Lavender Blue quilt--- roughly 6 hours start to finish
1 Attachment(s)
Just finished this yesterday. It took roughly 6 hours from pulling fabrics/design to hand finishing the binding. I think stitching the binding took longer than any other part of making it. I have been hand quilting several quilts lately and needed a quick project. It measures about 30" x 36" and is completely made from vintage sheets. I don't normally name my quilts, but this one is called Lavender Blue. My daughter is making a stuffed rabbit to match out of the some of the scraps.

I knew what size I wanted it and my daughter drew up a quick plan. I can get a pic later with measurements.

What an accomplishment...it doesn't look like a 6 hour quilt. Great job.

I love your quilt!

Very pretty - I'm going to have to look at the sheets at my local Goodwill with a whole new outlook.

I am so impressed - 6 hours and a beautiful quilt. Love the name.
I hope you will also post pictures of your daughter's rabbit. |
Very pretty quilt and in 6 hours too! WOW! Love the colors

Sometimes its a big booster to do a quick fun and done project amidst some of those that take a long time. This one certainly qualifies! Great job and I like the name.

I love the nice, soft colors in this quilt.

Here is the pattern that we drew out. There are 25 blocks and the measurements are written on each block. It finished at 30"x36", but you could add/subtract blocks or change the block sizes to make it smaller or larger. (or could add more sections) I have put bold lines around the sections, hope that helps.

Love, Love, Love those colors!!! You did a great job!!

Love the vintage sheets. I bet the quilt is very soft to touch. I love to use sheets on the back of quilts because they feel so amazing on your skin. Most have higher thread counts than quilting fabric, too, so they will last and last.
Thank you for sharing your pattern with us too! |
6 hours? That sure is nice and quick.
|
That's some fast sewing!! Great job!

Lovely, soothing colours. Simply beautiful.
