Just finished this topper. The lavenders were a 5 FQ pack, so pretty together.

imaquilter 05-20-2008 02:13 PM

very pretty! How was the piecing? Easy or hard?

Cordelia 05-20-2008 03:30 PM

That is gaw-jus, dahlink!

I really like that. I'm not too fond of lavender, but that would brighten any room and any spirits up from a cold dark winter.

Kyiav10 05-20-2008 07:15 PM

Stunning. Love the colors together and the pattern.

Purple is my downfall in any shade and I love your pattern. Where can I get it?

Katrine 05-22-2008 04:15 AM

Millie, just cut 5 and 7/8 inch squares - cut in half diagonal (to make 5 inch blocks). The lavender shades were from 5 fat quarters. I just laid the sequence out on a bed before I pieced the rows (which I had numbered and marked left to right to keep the sequence correct). I think I bought 1 metre for the sprig print, also 1 metre for the border/binding, and quarter metre of the dark purple. The finished siz is 48 inches by 58 inches. It is very easy to do.

Katrine 05-22-2008 04:30 AM

I meant to say 5 FQs of a metre, not yard!

judee0624 07-06-2008 04:02 PM

:) :) :) Aren't those FQ packs great? Love the way you made them work together. Great job!

Very cool quilt. Purple is my favorite.

Katrine 07-07-2008 04:05 AM

Thank you for comments. Sorry to have been so quiet lately - but I had a viral infection which (horror of horrors) made my hands swell so much I couldnt bend fingers or hold anything and it was so painful - worst thing to happen to a quilter!
I have been reading daily though and keeping up with everyone.
Now it is under control, and I am back in the sewing room.

Our local village has its Fete Day early next month and I am making a few small things (bags, tea cozies, runners, specs cases) to have a stall.
Will post some pix.

I have just collected up together fabrics from a range of lilac sprays, petals, with cream and sage co-ordinates, and trying to decide on a pattern/layout which suits it best.
