LBB-36 done. 4 blocks to go
2 Attachment(s)
I'm happy to have block #36 finished. I wasn't liking it much but I'm okay with it now. The first picture is the before embellishing picture. The second picture is the after embellishing one.
I have only 4 blocks to go and I'll have all 40 blocks finished. I have started the borders and have all the stems and 800+ leaves finished. There are some flowers to applique on but this is getting closer and closer. I'm very excited about it. |
Exquisite details. It is exciting to have the end in site! Ready for next phase. thanks for sharing progress

Wow! This is out of this world! It is so soft and stunning. I can't wait to see the finished quilt. I know it is some time from now but I am rooting for you all the way. Thanks for sharing your progress. So beautiful.

Beautiful so far. Wonderful work on it.

The embellishments make a beautiful block into a stunning one! I’m eager to see the finished product.

Absolutely beautiful, I can't even imagine how it must feel to only have 4 blocks left to do. Heck I'm excited about this project and I'm only on my 4th block. Your work is exquisite, and you are such an inspiration to those of us that are only beginning the LBB. Congratulations on block 36.

Thank you, everybody. I'm so happy that those beginning the LBB know that it is possible. It seems impossible at the beginning. And, even yet, I have so much to do before this quilt is finished. But, I'm still enjoying the process and the progress. I can't ever imagine not having an applique quilt to work on. It is just so relaxing for me.

Beautiful as your other blocks are. Keep posting!

That is stunning, I can’t wait to see the rest. Would someone mind telling me what LLB stands for, I’m not familiar with this pattern.
|
Ukinusa, the LBB stands for Little Brown Bird, a wonderful, grueling, awesome, painful, magnificent quilt by Margaret Docherty. You will have to Google it to see the finished quilt. The quilt takes 40 (8") blocks with a ton of HST sashing and then just when you think you're close to being done there is about a mile of appliqued border to do. I'm on block # 20 now and loving every minute of it. My work doesn't compare to Nanaupnorth's blocks but by the time to get to block 40 I'll be a lot better at it. Look it up and you will see that it truly will be a once in a lifetime quilt.
