This was Bonnie Hunter's 2013 leader/ender challenge.

That's a beautiful scrappy; the title intrigues me! My machine was gayly throbbing along one day as I was piecing unit after unit and I thought of sheep following each other, so I came up with "leaders and followers" for my scrap starting and ending pieces.

very nicely done

Lovely Leaders and Enders Project. The quilting enhances it quite nicely. Makes me want to use my scraps for a similar project. Thanks for sharing.

What a great scrappy quilt.

I admire your quilt because it is truly beautiful. But, I admire your organized way of preparing your scraps to have the leaders and enders ready to use as you proceed with another project. I use scraps as leaders and enders over and over until I can't stitch across them again. It saves thread, the possibility of 'bird-nesting', etc. But, it would be nice to be organized and have something to show for the effort-like a beautiful quilt.

Great Job. Just starting this Split-9 Patch
Pattern that is on her site for free.

jmoore 01-13-2017 04:59 AM

It turned out beautifully...is that pattern on Bonnie's quiltville page? I just finished a queen size leader/ender project and used Arkansas Crossroads pattern but as I've started another pile of 2 1/2 inch squares, I am looking for something different.

Great quilt. I've watched some of her Quiltville on You Tube, and I'm considering doing one of her quilts, as I have lots and lots of scraps.

Yes, the pattern is on her free patterns page. You might notice that I did my blocks a bit different than Bonnie did.

I always pick out some simple patterns for my leader and ender quilts since Marsha McCloskey suggested using a scrap of fabric under the needle in one of her books I read years ago.

It was the 2013 leader/ender project and I got it finished including quilting and binding in 2016. The top was done for a while but I put off quilting till I got my Sweet Sixteen and practiced a bit.

DebraK 01-14-2017 09:28 AM

So, so, lovely. Nice finish.
