Leaf Quilt

1 Attachment(s)
This is based on Missouri Star's "Finish Line" pattern and I made it as a commission for a lady who is going to use it to cover her baby grand piano. It's my first real commission quilt and I learned a few things, that's for sure.
One is that it's more difficult to work with colours that you don't really care for.

You did beautiful work on that quilt even I you didn't care for the colors. She'll love it.

Lovely quilt!

osewme 02-11-2021 10:13 AM

That quilt is beautiful.

I would say the quilt is beautiful even if it wasn't my favorite colors. I'm going to assume each leaf is appliqued and that just puts that quilt in a higher level of beautiful.

Beautiful. Job well done

It is a beautiful quilt and made even more beautiful because you were working in a color palate that you do not care for. You did a good job on this first commissioned quilt.

What a great quilt! I love it!

It is a lovely quilt. I can appreciate the color issue. I finished one for a friend that was started by her mother, the colors were not pleasant to the eyes at all. The things we do https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/smile.png

You did a great job. It is very rich looking.

cashs_mom 02-11-2021 07:38 PM

That's so pretty! I can see where you would have trouble working with those colors. You did a great job. I'm not sure I could have managed that.

It's beautiful!

As usual - absolutely beautiful!!

EmiliasNana 02-12-2021 08:11 AM

Yes, I can relate as I did a baby quilt I did not at all care for, but the recipients loved it. You did an amazing job however and that is what you were paid for.

Darcyshannon 02-12-2021 11:06 AM

Beautiful work! Yes, I have found the same. It is so hard to work on quilts that don’t appeal.

Jingle 02-12-2021 04:07 PM

Beautiful quilt for her baby grand piano. Work on it is amazing as usual.

sewingitalltogether 02-13-2021 03:37 PM

I like it!! Great colors. Like the pieced background and the leaves sweeping up.

It’s a very lovely quilt.

It's beautiful, Watson. I am sure the person who commissioned it will be very pleased with it. I can imagine it would be harder to work with colors you don't care for. But you did a stunning job.

That is beautiful Watson. Like the sweeping leaves.

I have made charity quilts, where I get a "kit" from the person in charge. Wow! It does make a difference when you don't care for the colors... However, the person who receives it does!
