But, mainly I learned that I don't like quilting this densely all over the quilt...ha. I will do this in the background of blocks or to make an applique stand out, but my hat is off to those of you who can quilt this densely.

I took the same class and only practiced on scraps. Yours came out great!

Great work on this! Fun way to try different designs and textures.

Love your quilting. I took that class but have not tackled a quilt yet. Loved the class.

Your quilted squares are Zentangled!! Nice job. Zentangle is another art form and quite fun.

I think it looks FABULOUS. I really like Angela Walters and her style. I have one of her books and have gotten some great tips from it. It is much easier to do this kind of quilting on a LA than a domestic.

BTW for those of you who say dense quilting makes a quilt stiff, it is NOT the quilting but the quilting COMBINED with the batting that does this. Do this kind of quilting with W&N and it does tend to be stiff. Do this kind of quilting with say Quilters Dream cotton or poly or wool or bamboo or silk it has lovely drape.

Angela Walters does mention that she likes Quilters Dream. I used a low loft batting, and my quilt is not stiff at all. I like quilts that are quilted densely. Love to look at the quilting designs used & all the work that goes into it. I just don't think an all over dense quilting it for me. Takes lots of time, work and thread. I will use what I've learned from this class in backgrounds of blocks & around appliqué. I use a domestic (Juki TL98Q) on a Little Gracie II frame.
