Leaves Wallhanging
4 Attachment(s)
I made this from a free pattern in an on-line magazine here.... https://quiltsocial.com/free-quiltso...now-available/ with leftovers from a tote bag. The only fabric I purchased for it was the black....funny I ran out of black!
I liked the pattern because it was different, used a lot of scraps and decorative stitches and I finished it by using a scrappy binding technique that another QB'er posted here last week and a decorative stitch around the binding, too. I did a different FMQ motif in each block. Thanks for looking! Watson |
That is so cool. I struggle with how to use my fancy stitches on my quilting. Great example of what can be done.
Edited to Add: I don't know the size of these (yet), but it looks like they would make great fall placemats or add a few more leaf sections and make a table runner. Well, it is table runner size already. I signed up for and downloaded the free magazine. It's got some good instructions for several different projects. |
a great piece!

What a gorgeous wall hanging. Perfect for fall.

Barb, this is about 30" x 25", but you could adapt the pattern for sure to make placemats or whatever you wanted....

Lovely work!

Lovely leaves!
|
I like it! Well done and nice pattern to work with.

I love all the decorative stitches on your piece! I recently bought an old New Home model that has dozens of them. My other machines are vintage Kenmores and take cams. I have all the cams (lucky me!) but changing them out isn't as easy as turning a dial. : )

Your leaf wall hanging turned out so very, very pretty. I really like the enhancement of the decorative stitching. I also like how you staggered the leaf blocks & made them different sizes so they are not all in perfect rows. Very striking piece.

Awesome wall hanging and love the way you used your many decorative stitches. Great idea. Love the scraps of fabric you put together.
|
What a fantastic idea and a great interpretation by you Watson

Oooh, I really like this. I especially like how the pattern uses the background fabric as the center vein for the leaves. Another project for the list.
|
Very pretty, Watson. I love playing with decorative stitches. Yours turned out great!
|
Beautiful! I love the fancy stitching on the binding. It's those details that are just the icing on the cake.:o
|
Very nice wallhanging and quilting.
|
Those leaves are stunning! Beautiful work.
|
Love, love it. Thanks for the link. BrendaK

love that! hmmm....might look good on my wall! LOL! (I especially like the block where you echoed the leaf and it looks like the leaf dropped onto water and made ripples--middle bottom)
|
Love the decorative stitches on the binding!
It looks like you had a great time making this quilt. The scrappy binding looks great and I like the decorative stitches you used to machine stitch the binding on the front.
|
Very nice! Love your stitches too.
|
love it; just signed up for the magazine
thanks!1 |
That's gorgeous! Lovely colors and wonderful work.
|
Wow! Beautiful! The leaves really pop on the dark background.
