Leftover Hearts
1 Attachment(s)
Another bunch of leftovers into a top. Not sure if it needs borders or not and what color to use??
When I am in this position, I will put this on my design wall and pin a couple different border options on different sides. Then i either take a picture with my camera or just see where my eye goes when i walk in the room. Sounds kinda silly but it works. Sometimes i can decide right away, other times it might be days. Hope this helps.

I was thinking a pink since there is pink in the hearts and swirls of it on the purple.
Love your hearts :) |
Not sure on border, but beautiful job!!
Quilt top is beautiful. I think a pink that is inside the heart, or fuscia, perhaps green. I agree with auditioning a few different colors to see which one works best for you.
It's beautiful! Wow. Applique, right?
Very pretty quilt....I think maybe an inner border of the hot pink but would have to audition the final border.

I love heart quilts, and I really love yours. I'm sure you will have just the right finish on it.
I also think a border would finish the top off.
one of the colours in the hearts. |
I love it, the colors are so pretty. I like the idea of a pink border it was the first thing that popped into my mind when I first saw it.

I think a combination of the red, blue and green would make a snazzy border. Maybe small widths of all three colors.
Beautiful quilt!
Really pretty quilt. Perhaps bordered with some of the colours in the hearts.
You made a really cool top from your left over hearts. sewmom has a very good idea about auditioning different ideas while it is on the wall. Take a few days to play with it and even post some of your choices and get opinions from QB.
Some one on the QB made a scalloped border from a heart pattern and it was way cool and your hearts would work well with that kind of border in that dark purple. I know there is a pattern for it. If interested I can try to locate it. peace |
A pink border would be pretty, or choose another color-or two- from the hearts. ;)

A deep pink that is in the swirled blocks (and also in the heart prints) would be lovely. I'd go for a simple black binding because anything else would take away from your beautiful quilt!
THis is in reference to my earlier post about a scalloped heart border. I found the magazine it is in. I think your quilt would be so cool with this border.

Such a beautiful quilt. I'm afraid I can't help you with the borders as I have the same the problem.
I think every quilt should have at least one border. Maybe a dark pink? Peggy
It looks great. I especially like the fabric you chose for the hearts.
That is pretty. I would go with pink border.
How about a key board of all the colors
I see bits of pink or an orange in those hearts...... so either color would really pop!!
IMHO, I think a thin border in the bright pink and binding in the dark purple would finish it off nicely. Love the layout and applaud your use of the leftover hearts. Thanks for sharing.

It's a gorgeous quilt! Nice job! :)
