Leftover and mistake blocks
1 Attachment(s)
I posted this in the scrappy quilt show, but a friend told me I should post it here, too. Made from an accumulation of leftover and unloved blocks when the colors didn't work as I had planned.

Happy scrappy!
They all look good together, good job!
Very nice, looks great
Great idea, if I say so myself. I actually have that in mind if I ever get that many leftovers…I am not a prolific quilter and often "cut" it very close to the bone…
:) |
I love it. People are making money selling patterns that use all sorts of odd blocks in them Jen Klingwell comes to mind.
It turned out looking "intentional". The purple you used for the sashing is great!
You can be proud of yourself......it's a beauty!!
Thanks for your posting. I've got an accumulation of orphan blocks looking for a quilt . . . this just could be it! Your quilt is beautiful with those blue sashings.

I think you found the perfect home for your stray blocks!
Sweet scrappy, .......... there is no such thing as an unloved block, it's just a block waiting for a quilt.
Cute and a Good idea! Lately I have been picking up other peoples blocks off the free table at my guilds. With just a little love they make great place mats for donation to Meals on Wheels or similar services. They are also wonderful for when you feel like sewing but don't want to get 'in deep' on a project.
Great job!! i have some left overs I should make into something.
A fabulous quilt from your leftovers!
Very nice and colorful quilt.
Wonderful!! I love it! So unique... there will never be another quite the same! You did an excellent job. It's really beautiful and colorful. Everything plays so well together!
Very happy scrappy! It turned out really cool!
Very good! I have lots of left over block too but I can't get motivated to do something with them. You are an inspiration!
Such a good idea for your orphan blocks! Lovely quilt and tells a story.
Good job!!
What a fun quilt!
Thanks for sharing that. I also have a tub of "mistakes" and other "unloved blocks". They seem to accumulate.
Judy, looks like you found the perfect home for misfit and unwanted blocks...it turned out great. What a terrific idea and it sounds like you’ve given some of us a food for thought. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for posting here, Judy. I am the holder of boxes of orphan blocks from my guild members. I like how you used columns, to "organize" the different sized blocks. That makes sense and would speed up the process. Now, just need to find the time to dig through the piles and organize a piles of orphans by size. :o
Your "unloved blocks" are no longer stuck like a pooch in a dog pound. They have found their forever home and will be loved and cuddled!
That really looks cute!!!
That's what I need to do with leftover blocks. Great job!
Nice way to use those up!
Very nice finish on these blocks you weren't happy with. It is a bright and cheerful quilt.
Nice way to use them!
Very cool!
Made a nice project.
A happy colorful scrappy! The purple strips are a fun addition too. :)
Somehow they all come together here. You have made a silk purse out of sow's ears.
Now I know what I will do with all those orphan blocks in my closet. They don't have to be all the same size!
Judy...this turned out great....you are so talented....
Very pretty! I love assembling 'orphan' block quilt tops.
Cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love it! One of my favorite scrappies.
