I retired recently and made this quilt as a gift for my dear friend and administrative assistant. She loves the beach, so I chose the tropical colors she loves, and hand quilted it using beach related motifs - starfish, sea horses, whales, palm trees, etc. She loved it, and I loved giving it to her.
