This is the tabletop that we worked on at our local guild workshop. I purchased all sizes of the amazing rulers and templates. I can see myself doing a lot of fun things with them. After buying all of the rulers, templates, batting, patterns and books that she had to offer, I have determined that this is the most expensive tabletop ever!!!

I like that...very pretty.

cjomomma 03-29-2011 07:03 PM

It sure is pretty and look at all the goodies you got!

np3 03-29-2011 07:04 PM

You can make it scrappy too. Or do a 4 Patch in the middle instead of all one fabric. Really fun to play with.

mzmama 03-29-2011 07:05 PM

I bought all that stuff too, but you have gotten way further along then I have. I have good intentions.

We actually finished it in class. She was firm about that. She doesn't want anyone going home with UFOs!

crafty_linda_b 03-29-2011 07:13 PM

If you start now you can have all your holiday gifts done in time for this year...very nice..Linda B.

I have some of those blocks made without any boughter tools! I just made my own circle pattern. Took a class on the whole thing though. Have enough cut to make a quilt. Did you use any kind of batting? I used a layer of flannel between the fabrics. No batting though. Yours is very pretty.

SueDor 03-30-2011 02:12 AM

Great job. Nobody said that quilting was cheap, thats for sure!

hperttula123 03-30-2011 02:20 AM

IT is wonderful!

Candy Apple Quilts 03-30-2011 02:57 AM

It may be expensive..... but it looks like it's worth every penny to me! I LOVE it! :D

harvsstuff 03-30-2011 03:03 AM

Love your project. I purchased the same pattern etc. years ago at the Paducah Quilt Show and have only made one sample piece. I quess I should get it out again.

I used the Hobbs Thermore that they recommend. Two bags of that was also part of my purchase. Just didn't make the pictures! It is very thin and uniform in thickness. It works very well. If you don't want to buy that, flannel would work as well. Just make sure that you wash it several times first.

That is very true! You can use any scraps from your stash. And I can make them all look different.

Mariposa 03-30-2011 07:43 AM

Nicely done!

jdiane318 03-30-2011 07:47 AM

I was watching a tutorial on Missouri Star Quilt company and they have a ruler to make a cathedral window quilt that would probably do the same thing that all those rulers did. I'm a bad gadget person, and if it says I need a ruler, I usually get it.

Monstookie 03-30-2011 07:58 AM

Very pretty table topper

amma 03-30-2011 08:20 AM

These rulers have a curve on them to line up with your sewn circle for when you make your cut for turning. The arc rulers let you cut your circles to 1/4 inch seam allowance after sewing using your rotary cutter instead of scissors. Love them.

Saw her give a demo not too long ago. Have been considering trying her method. She has some beautiful dispaly items.

pollyjvan9 03-31-2011 07:31 AM

I really can picture an amazing throw or bed size quilt using your new toys. Have fun!

Yes she does. I have a pattern that I bought that is very similar to this (copyright violation I now know) that you just use regular circles and rulers to complete. It is NOT as easy or as uniform as this one turned out to be.

You make as many sets of 4 as you like then put them all together. So whenever you get tired of making a set of 4.....you're done! Endless possibilities!
