I didn't see the quilt when you showed it, but I'm fascinated with the pale reds (not really pink) you used. It is a very fresh look at the patriotic "red/white/blue" we are used to, but for me the paler cooler seems to say, "We've lasted a long time, but are still going strong."

Honorable Mention is a great ribbon to get!!!!! When there are a lot of quilts in a show, it shows that your quilt was worthy of recognition even though it did not place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. Sometimes the honorable mention ribbon was given because it was so close to placing and the judge had to make a hard choice on who to give the place ribbon to. Great quilt.
