Does anyone make the light weight quilt, with no batting? I saw one at an antique store the other day and I thought it was a great idea for a bed throw, that you won't be using for warmth...

Yes, i do. I have some South Seas 60" wide fabric a little heavier weight than most quilt cottons. It is perfect for backing quilts and throws that I don't want to use batting with.

They are called Summer quilts.

My mother used to put a layer of flannel in her summer quilts in place of batting.

I think it could also be a good preshrunk muslin as the inner layer ... makes a nice weight and feel to it.

My Mom had them on our beds during the summer months...just in case the night got cold here in Minnesota!
