My 6 year old daughter recently came down with a pretty bad viral stomach bug that lasted 10 days and she threw up everything she ate for 5 days straight. She lost so much weight that I felt ribs and her spine when I hugged her but the doctor said there was nothing I could do but push fluids. As she was coming off of that bug, she came down with an ear infection that woke her up in the night and cried when she was awake.

So, needless to say, these were NOT finished in time for St. Patrick's Day. But, they are done now, and in the tote of decorations for next year.

The first wreath, with brighter fabrics.

The second wreath, with more subdued fabrics.

A close up of the quilting. On both quilts, I stipled closely in the center and outside edges of the wreath. In the border I stitched some cables.

I'm a twister fan & yours look great. Maybe they weren't ready for this year but your ahead of the game for next!

Great designs and I love your choice of fabrics:)

Currently am working on a mini-twister from patchwork cut 3.5 inch squares with same width border. My homemade mini-template is 2.5 inch square so the finished blocks are 2.0 inches.
In fact, I am on my way to the sewing area now to add the contrasting fabric borders. Right now, my piece is about 13.0 inch square.

What size template and blocks did you use? I have made the little twister table runner with the 5.0 inch squares of patches.

Sure hope your child is feeling better soon!!!

Your twister wreaths are great! I did one for Christmas this year and it was such fun. Hope your daughter is on the mend. Doesn't it really feel like you've been through the wringer when your kids are sick?

Definitely! When she had the stomach bug she lost so much weight that I felt ribs and her spine when I hugged her. I took her to the doctor but she told me that her kids had the same bug and there was nothing to do. I spent half the night worrying and the other half holding her. She needed extra cuddles and I felt bad for focusing so much time on her and not on my oldest but my oldest was right there to coddle her sister, as well.

I used the 5" squares with the little twister, as well. I've done the tablerunner and loved that, too. It's on here somewhere.

Are the little twisters hard? I've seen this pattern several times but have had too many projects to sit down and try it....Like your's by the way!

PAM they aren't hard..just smaller...at a recent Quilters day out I saw twisters as small as 1 1/2 inches..to me that's too tedious. I do love the twister quilt and tools though....my smallest is the 3 1/2 inch one.
