Your quilt is stunning. Are you actually piecing it by hand? No sewing machine?

That is fabulous. How long did it take you to piece it? And how are you quilting it?

It feels like it has taken me forever. I started it in 2004 - first block was machine done. The remaining 25 I hand pieced - each took 10 hours. I was able to figure that out while sewing in the hospital when DH had some surgery. Then we had a house fire. :( The blocks were saved but I couldn't bring myself to work on it until a year & a half ago.

Putting the blocks together took the better part of a year as I carried it with me hither & yon. I finally got it sandwiched and on my frame last spring. I am hand quilting it with a stab-stitch it instead of the normal quilting stitch. Can't hold the needle correctly for that. I'll probably have it done by next spring. :)

I only work on it when I'm feeling good about doing so. I don't want to redo anything because I was careless.

Thank you for sharing more pictures, it is absolutely gorgeous! I want to know if it's hard too.

Took a while at the site but found this explanation:

It has links to three quilts and the book.

WOW! I do not think I'd have the patience for all that, but then I've never done hand-sewing. I might like it for all I know. I'm crocheting a blanket that takes 20 minutes for each row, I'll be curious how many hours I put into that. After the crochet I need to color fabric and weave it through...

Anyhow, I really love your quilt, I would hang it on the wall for sure!
