Hi everyone. I finished this quilt earlier this summer for my almost three-year-old daughter. It was my first applique project - I learned that, while I don't love applique, sometimes it worth it. I love this quilt for her.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to quilt such a thing, though? I'd like to finish it for her for her birthday (November) or Christmas, although that is being hopeful. Lots of things going on between now and then. |
cute, how about hearts quilted on it
Too cute .... You could possible outline the dresses?
How adorable! Makes me wish there were some girl babies in my family. I agree with craftybear. I can picture an upside down heart in the body. Then maybe smaller hearts inside it or some stippling in the background to make the baby stand out.
How sweet..I love it..!
cute quilt, and i love the colors
Cute quilt. I agree with craftybear also.
Adorable!
That is one of the cutest little girl quilts that I have ever seen!
Very nice quilt!
So Adorable!
This quilt should win the cuteness award. Adorable.
That is just darling. How about echo quilting around the dolls.
That is adorable. I like the echo quilting around the dolls idea. Maybe a wavy stitch along the ditch of the blocks as well.
Your daughter will cherish it forever. She is adorable!
Oh how cute!
That is so creative!!! A perfect quilt for a little girl!!
Cute quilt! Your daughter will love it! :)
How sweet, I love it!
Very cute quit! Job well done yes!
I made it, and outlined everything.
That quilt is sooooo cute. I am sure she loves it.
Sweet! Nice job.
Your quilt is absolutely adorable! I would stitch 1/2" echoes. Also stitch in the ditch around the blocks.
Of course you would do the sid first. |
WOW!!! That certainly is a lot of applique work! I love your quilt! It's perfect for your little girl!! I'm currently working on a wedding quilt that I'm hand-appliqueing. It's looking quite nice. I find hand-applique so relaxing. 8-)
OMG that is darling!! I would SID the patchwork on her dress and meander the rest around the doll, not stitching on the doll itself.
Forgive my lack of hospitality - it was late and I was tired.
Let me say that your work is really cute, and I'm looking forward to seeing it finished. Whimsical quilts are so much fun, aren't they! . |
those are just too cute
Oh that is cute. I would outline the outer edge of the doll, the dress and the bib and meander the background of the blocks. The borders could be meandered or do e's and hearts or if you are a feather person, the border is a great place for a feather. It all depends on what you like and where you are with your FMQ. It is a darling quilt and just needs quilting to hold it together and not detract from those adorable dolls.

Very Cute Quilt for a little girl...love the colors....

This is so adorable. I would love to make this for my granddaughter. Could you share what pattern or book this came from? I am retiring & I will have lots of time now. Thanks.
Really cute quilt. She will love it.

Adorable - I love everything about it! Is there a pattern available for this?
Really cute. Sue
Very darling! I think it would be really cute tied!
