Love the wall hanging. Would you share the name of the pattern?
As to sewing through the fusible...I am guessing you might have used Steam-A-Seam or it's equivalent. It is only a fusible and it says on the package, something to this effect...Not recommended for sewing. There's a Steam-A-Seam Lite that you can sew. Of course, my friend used what was supposed to be a sew friendly fusible with a batik and couldn't sew it. The combination of batik and sew-friendly fusible just didn't work. She finally just gave up after trying every different needle and thread combination she could come up with. That's one quilt that won't ever get washed. :) What fusible IS OK for sewing? I have used Steam a Seam 2 on another wall hanging and it sewed perfectly when I quilted it. I guess I just got lucky. And, I even used filament! Watson |
The best for cotton to me is the fusible light version. I have had to use a denim needle on the other heavy version and still had the popping noise and skipped stitches.

That's a fun wall hanging & the kids will love it.

I was just at the fabric store (surprise) and looked at the package and Steam a Seam 2 says on the package that it will sew without gumming up your needle! Hmmm.
I bought the Lite version, so I'll give it a try, because I have a new wall hanging in mind and definitely need a fusible for it. Watson |
Happy Halloween. You did an awesome job. Love the pattern.
