I went to the Martha Pullen Stitch, Craft, Live event this past weekend. I worked as a volunteer on Friday to assist in classes. This was the class I worked in, and I just loved the project, so I bought the pattern and came home and made one for myself. My daughter picked out all the fabric and thread colors etc. It took just a little more than an hour and a half to make from start to finish. It's just big enough to hold the basics, or an ipad. I made the bigger version. The next one I'm going to make will be just a tiny bit bigger to hold my tablet.

The name of this pattern is Cathedral Window Wristlet, and its by Missy Billingsley from MissyBStitchin. This is the larger size but the pattern comes in 3 sizes. Here is a link to her website where you can buy the pattern.

I am trying to learn embroidery but it has been a slow process...I have no one to hold my hand and teach me to use my Janome 300e. How large of a hoop do you need to make one of these purses and do you think it is doable on my machine? Thanks so much for any help anyone can offer.

each of her patterns has the hoop requirements for each size. I don't know how your hoops are sized. I think the min requirement is 8x11 for this particualar large sized version of the pattern.

I will say that Missy's CD has tons of photos to go with her instructions making it very very easy to follow. She's also readily available on facebook or email to help you. I had no clue before seeing her class that this stuff was even possible. I'm still learning how to use my machine too.

I need to find someone who has the full embroidery digitizing software that can help me make a minor tweak to these. If any of you can do that please let me know.
