A year ago I promised to make a quilt for my daughter-in-law's mother, whose mother had recently passed away. Finished it just in time for this Christmas. I used photos and pieces of fabric from her clothes as the centers of the log cabin squares. Pretty pleased with it overall. My FMQing is not the greatest but it was done with love. I quilted a heart around each of the centers and meandered the rest (except for the borders, which has a heart pattern).
The recipient seemed to really appreciate it (as did her sisters). Log Cabin Memory Quilt Label on Memory Quilt Hearts quilted in the borders |

I have a question. How do the fabric pictures hold up after washing? I also included fabric pictures on my grandson's quilt label and also had a picture on a pillow to match. Just wondering.

That is just beautiful. I can see why they love it. I have used that heart quilting pattern too. I just love it.

OR, you can buy the pretreated fabric ready to put through the printer. I still recommend ironing it after, and using a setting solution. |

What a beautiful quilt. My youngest sister's husband died this past Christmas and I would love to make a quilt like this for her. Would you share your pattern/instructions with me? Thank you.

As it happens I will be making three more memory quilts soon...but do not plan to use a log cabin for them...just patterns that lend themselves to a focus point within a square. |
