I thought I sent these pictures earlier but they haven't come through, so I think I probably did something wrong. Will try this again.
Using sashing with the blocks makes them look totally different. I really like the Log Cabins too... I think all three are beautiful but the one called Flowers in my Cabin is stunning..

estheblair--I had a pattern for Flowers in my Cabin. I copied it from a book of patterns and didn't get the designer's name, although I think it migt have been a Pat Bono. Any way, the trick is that color "cubes" are put in the upper left hand corner of about half the blocks. That is what makes the smaller design in the middle of the circular quilting. I think that circular quilting really "makes" the quilt. If you want the pattern, I could send it to you. Contact me at [email protected].

Postscript on the Flowers in my Cabin pattern. The colored strips are half as wide as the white strips, so it gives an off-center look to the block.
