Logcabin Quilts for Twin Boys

2 Attachment(s)
Just finished hand binding the quilts and they're in the washer now as I want to give them to the mother tomorrow. She asked for the same pattern as the one I made her 1st son but wanted different colors. At 1st she wanted one in orange and teal and the other in green and teal but then she didn't know what to give to which boy so asked if I could make them with all 3 colors so that's what I did. Wasn't sure the colors would go together but after making a sample block I think she had the right idea. What do you think?

This pattern was a basic logcabin but you add the corner (grey) section cut as a square, sewed at a diagonal and trimmed. The trimmed pieces are what I used to make the diamonds along the borders and the pinwheels on the backside. Hate to waste anything these days. The border idea was mine idea and not part of the original pattern.

I really like the way you framed the 5 center blocks. That adds a 3D quality. Those colors are gorgeous. I guess that's why the quilt is so wonderful. Great job.
