Lone Star
1 Attachment(s)
My lone star! <3 I love the way it turned out! The points didn't all come together perfectly in the center but other than that I'm happy with the way it turned out.
Good job! I hope to make one someday. I will be happy if it turns out as good as yours.
Beautiful. Looks perfect to me.
I think you did a great job.
Love the colors too. |
Beautiful! No one will notice once it is quilted that the center points didn't all meet. I would be so proud of it if I were you!
Great job with your Lone Star! It is on my bucket list for 2016!!
Nice job! You know, I wouldn't even have noticed the points in the center if you hadn't mentioned it.
Great job. I have struggled with two Lonestars. Got one completely done and the other Lonestar is completed but awaiting applique in the setting triangles and squares. I recently found foundation piecing from Quiltsmart, and no joke, I think you can make one in a day using four fabrics for the smaller one. Foolproof (well, nearly) and so MUCH faster. The points line up perfectly with occasional tweaking needed upon occasion, but easy to do. I am not thinking I will EVER make one any other way. Congratulations on your finish.

It is beautiful. Great work.
Nice job! They are tricky.
It looks great! You did good.
It's beautiful!
That's beautiful. It's this start actually made by sewing all of the triangles one by one?
It looks great. You should be pleased.
Very nice job and love your colors too.
Beautiful and a great job piecing!
A lonestar was one of my first quilts, done by strip piecing (the method for that particular quilt - not in general). I didn't know it was supposed to be difficult so I just jumped right in. Did Christmas colors and has been a staple of my Christmas decorating (table topper) ever since. Was rather easy to do actually with strip piecing. Biggest problem was having to straighten strip sets periodically after the angle cuts but really not too bad.
You did a great job. |
Thank you! It's actually done with strip piecing. :)
Wonderfully gorgeous!
nicely done
You did a fantastic job!!!
looks great good job!!
Looks absolutely wonderful to me! I've made a 12" lone star block in a sampler quilt, and the inset seams drove me to almost take up drinking...lol. I seriously did end up having to do some of the piecing by hand to get it to align.
I have several I have made like this but I can't seem to get past the star to make a square. Yours is very pretty.
came out great, aren't they fun to make? I love it. what color corner squares are you putting in.
I have done a Lonestar & know how difficult matching those points are. I was lucky & mine came out perfectly but if you hadn't mentioned your Center star, I never would have noticed. Looks great to me & like luvstoquilt has already said, once it's quilted, no one will ever notice, I guarantee it. Love your Lonestar !!
Nice miniature one. Be sure to remember when attaching the squares and triangles, to keep the bias side down.
Good job, very pretty.
That is so pretty --- and I love your colors!
Nice lone star
Yours is REALLY PRETTY:) Looks great. I made one....well, it's in the UFO pile still.....almost 20 yrs ago....many centers looked like volcanoes. Maybe I should get it out and try to finish it as yours is very inspiring:)
Block looks great and after you quilt it you won't notice the seams are a little off. You might want to starch it heavily before adding the squares/setting triangles.
Very nicely done. You have been busy!
nice job love the colors
On my to-do list. Yours looks really good - love the contrast of the fabrics.
look great to me!
That is a difficult pattern, and you did well
Looks wonderful!
