Lucky you! I cannot even imagine burning fabric! But you never know what's going through people's minds.

Yes I'm STILL doing the happy dance! I finally got the top together, and some embroidery in the center block. I still haven't decided what to use for the backing, though. The baby is due in late April, so it'll be warmer here, and they probably won't use it much. I'm thinking maybe just some flannel for the batting layer, and then more flannel for the backing. Will that be too much?

What a nice chiro!
He will be quite happy with the quilt. Nice bright and cheery.

What a beautiful treasure trove of fabric, especially all the precut squares. I would often bring my works in progress or finished projects to show the girsl at my dentist's office/doctor's office and would occasionally be asked to make quilts. Once a dental tech asked me to make a tote bag for her, but a large one as they were traveling to China to pick up their newly adopted daughter. I made a large tote from denim fabric (something tough for traveling), then put pockets outside and inside the tote and she loved it and so did her new daughter who uses it for sleep overs, etc., so it's well used. I was also asked to make Raggedy Ann dolls for the dental hygienist when each of her granddaughters were born, although she'd never seen any that I had made. Well, she loved them, I quoted a price I used to get for a set (it was many, many years before that I did craft fairs and made them), which she gladly paid and then asked for another one when her second DGD was born. The dolls and the girls are never separated, they go everywhere and she couldn't have been happier. What a great boost to my self-esteem. Now I need to make one for my DGD who will soon be 2 years old. Wish me luck that I get it done in time.

You hit the mother load. LOl
your Dr and my dentist know us too well. The dentist told me last week to bring an empty container as he had to buy a large container of Liquer to make 2 different cakes with. He said I might as well have some of it for my baking too as its more than he would use in a lifetime.

QUILTNMO 02-04-2012 01:15 PM

Yeah, I'm having the time of my life using the fabrics! I finished sewing the top together, and right now it's on my short-arm quilting machine. I'm using variegated thread on some of it, and white on the rest. I'll post a picture when I finish quilting it. My DH is very happy with what I've done so far, and I'm very happy with it, so hopefully my chiro will be too.

n2scraplvr 02-06-2012 10:45 AM

They will love what you make! We can't wait to see pics! Be sure and post pics!

Keep going to this guy. He is wonderful and thoughtful. Knows what makes his patients happy.

DebbieJJ 02-06-2012 04:42 PM

It's finished except for the label! But right now it's in the washer.....I added some embroidery to it, and I have to get the stabilizer out of it. I can't wait to show you all, it's soooo pretty and "babyish"!

I finally finished it yesterday and took it to him.........he was very happy about it, and the women who work there loved it too! He expects his wife and DD to shed tears! I asked him for 2 free adjustments as payment, and he was only too happy to do it that way. So here is the quilt.....
