Look at this. My DH made it for me out of stainless steel and birch wood. It's all hand made and he turned the handle himself, then stained and waxed it. (I think he said waxed.)
It sure beats using a pin to try and hold the fabric in line when I'm piecing. |
What a sweet DH!! He did a beautiful job on it :D:D:D

Totally professional looking tool! You are lucky to have such a dear hubby!
|
That would probably work much, much better than a pin like you said or the seam ripper! I use that sometimes too! I have an awl but not a nice one like that. But I never have it near my sewing machine as I use it when I am crocheting around fleece baby blankets.
Your hubby must be a talented woodcraftsman! |
Very nice!

How wonderful. He's a keeper.
|
What a beautiful tool! He loves you.
|
He's a sweetheart using his hobby to help you with yours.

I love to see just how creative we can be in making useful things like this for ourselves. Takes me back to my childhood when there were no shopping malls or Wal-Marts and families had to find ways to fix or make tools they needed.

how do you use it???
