I am so excited! We were even able to make the whole thing with things we already had. He had the wood that made the frame, I had the fabric, and we used thumb tacks to secure it to the wood. It's filling up fast!!!

That is wonderful.

That's wonderful! It looks so professional.
Very nice, lucky you.
Very nice!!! Hope you gave him a big ol' hug!!
Lucky you! He did a great job! He deserves a big kiss!!
I think I could use one of those. I use the floor and I'm getting too old for all that crawling around. So when is he available?
very nice !!! I am sure you will get lots of use from the design wall. I have a huge sheet of insulating foam in my living room..waiting for my DH to attach it to my sewing room wall. I am to old to be crawling on the floor also!
Don't tempt him - we have a week off and are not sure what to do - he might like a trip out to Maine! :)
I'ts funny - when it came time for dinner we decided to pick something up. I usually do the picking up. Recently we are doing more give and take. I cook - he does the dishes, things like that. Well today I said, if you call it in, I will go pick it up. He looked at me and said with his little boy cutie voice "but I made you a design wall". So, I called dinner in and picked it up :) |
That looks great! It makes your blocks look like pieces of art hanging on the wall! I love it.
looks great, tell your DH thanks, now we are all jealous
That is great!! My husband is like that, always making things easier for me. They are a rare breed anymore and well appreciated.
Tell him to keep up the good work!! God bless, Dee |
You guys did a great job. It looks wonderful.
Very nice!! I don't have one of those yet, no real room for it!
Your DH is a keeper! Have fun filling it up!
Don't you just love when the DH comes up with a fabulous new toy for us!
Aw, Lucky you!

Here it is - pretty full already. Not quite tall enough as the last row is missing - but I have to say I love it. Sometimes I think I like the idea of having things more than I actually like using them but in this case I will get a lot of use from it.
Don't look too close and the blocks. They all still have to be squared up. Too bad I don't have my cutting table yet ;) |
Very nice design wall. I never had a professional one like yours but in my old house I had some wall space in my sewing room so I taped a piece of flannel about 72" x 84" to the wall & it worked great. Now I don't have the wall space but maybe I can put up a smaller one.
What kind of fabric did you use? Flannel?
Beautiful. Enjoy.
Can I borrow him :?:

Yes Danmar, I used Flannel. Here is a picture of the Carpenters Block you posted about in progress. I hope to finish it tonight. All the squares will be are 5.5 unfinished once I square them all up. :)
