And funny that is my watermelon wall hanging that I had posted in the past although I did send it out to be quilted by a LAQ because I can't do that beautiful feathery stuff. And here is what I made recently to go with it.... I purchased the doilies and made a little mini quilt and attached them. So you can see that I love watermelon stuff and now so does my sister. It was so exciting to me to find that cake for her.

She said that she looked up an official checker board online to figure out how many squares there were on a board and it has 64 squares (8X8) so she made that many and her's were 3 in squares but you could make them whatever size you want. I think she said that she was going to get big buttons for the checkers.
