I can't believe that this is what I'm down to! As you can see in the picture, the strips hanging over the chair are all ready for a Nine Patch, from left...DP9, big pink star quilt, small basket of squares for a baby quilt, and the big basket is scraps for a crazy quilt! That's it folks!!!

All I can say is WOW! You must have been one very busy stash buster!

SherryLea 12-06-2010 06:27 AM

You are so good having a use for all your stash I have a room full of material and most of it I just bought because I like it. It's nice and organized but don't have a use for each piece. You are so neat and do beautiful work,

Ha, ha...yes my daughter has a nice little stash of her own with a tiny bit of my help. Thankfully, it only included some Christmas fabric that I was tired of looking at!

Have you been going to QAA? Quilt Aholic Anonymous? Feel a bit envious, if we all did that we could have such fun shopping for the next quilt.

My New Years Resolution is not to buy any fabric. I too buy jsut becasue I like it and it will be good for something some day. However my stash is huge right now.

For Christmas, I have been using up material, but it does not look like I have made a dent.

Two thumbs up!!

justflyingin 12-06-2010 01:25 PM

Why did you resolve to use up your stash?

Do you have a terminal disease (I hope not!) or are planning on quitting the hobby or was it just bothering you to have so much excess fabric?

Just wondering... I like having some to work with, though mine is a bit excessive at the moment. But this year I've made 79 charity quilts with my stash....so I guess if I add to it with used sheets or curtains once in a while, that is okay, right? I am vowing to make sure more goes out in finished quilts than comes in in a plastic bag. :)

One of may main reasons for doing this was because I was getting overwhelmed with projects. It started to feel like I was in such a hurry to make quilts that I started to get frustrated and neglectful in other aspects of my life. I'm determined to finish these up and then relax with some serious hand quilting on a queen size. Quilting almost felt like a job for me. I'm downsizing and taking things slowly!
