your pictures are beautiful. Here's a link to one pattern for mountain lady slippers in applique http://www.bonanza.com/listings/McKe...per-4/40840626

I don't remember the name of the site but you can google it. There is at least one but I'm sure many who if you send them a photo they will convert it to an embroidery design. I love the lady slipper, I saw them when I was in MA. Good luck

Your pictures are beautiful!!

That takes me back to my childhood. :) I'd walk through the woods to get to the schoolbus and would see them every spring.

Sorry I don't have a pattern.

These beauties are very rare anymore. Lucky you if you have them in your area. The site with the quilt is really good or if you are ambitious make your own pattern with the great pics' you have. I would have them blown up at a printer, cut out the main parts and use them as templates. Which ever way you try, the finished quilt wil be grand.
peace

Draw your own pattern and applique it.

That is really beautiful!!!

debcavan 05-13-2012 07:08 PM

draw the outline right off the photo and then blow it up.

Latrinka 05-13-2012 07:23 PM

Beautiful orchid!

If you want to do appliques, you can Google "lady slipper coloring page", and use the image outline as a template.

WOW - I did not know there were pink flowers - just yellow ones around here.

igorsews 05-14-2012 06:14 AM

How about making an "art quilt" from your photo?

jgriinke 05-14-2012 06:36 AM

You might check Frieda Andersons patterns, she may have one. Also Glenna's Quilts and Stuff out of Escanaba Michigan might also have one.

Try looking for patterns for state flowers, since the showy lady's slipper is the state flower of Minnesota.

I would enlarge your photo, put a piece of clear plastic over it and with a very fine sharpie draw the lines and changes in color. Do as much or as little detail as you want to stitch. Cover the plastic with white paper and enlarge to the final size that you want. There is your pattern!

You could print the photo onto fabric and make that as part of your quilt. Maybe someone already said that...I didn't read all the posts.

Carol Armstrong has a beautiful pattern for this and other wildflowers in her first book "Wildflowers".

If you want to embroider the lady slipper design on a block or blocks, here is a link to the design at embroidery library:

maxnme01 05-15-2012 10:02 AM

Take your photo and have it enlarged the size you want. Cut out the elements of the photo for your pattern. Good luck. Would love to see a future posting with your finished project.

Fat Cat Patterns has/had a 12" appliqued block for the Lady Slipper.

KathyPhillips 05-15-2012 12:43 PM

This one was sold, but you could google McKenna Ryan and find another.

bluekrissyspikes 05-15-2012 12:54 PM

deltaquilter 05-15-2012 02:15 PM

I found a free pattern on Quilters Club of America. If you are a Premium Member you can find it on page 27 of the free patterns. It came from www.ButtonHoleQuiltDesign.com. However, the pattern is an older one so you may not find it on the Button Hole site. Hope you are a member of Quilters Club

Jammin' Jane 05-23-2012 11:41 AM

Oh, I'm sure you can draw that!!!!! :)
Good luck!
