Made this quilt for my son for Christmas. Got the idea (with permission) from a Carol (Mamacjt). The back design is referred to as a zipper design. I love it. I quilted it myself on my friend's long arm, first one I've quilted - and I am very pleased with the results. I used gold thread for the quilting.

How do you get the binding corners so perfectly square?

I do the traditional method, using 2 and a half inch strips, folded in half and pressed, I sew up to the quarter inch at the corner, take the piece out of the machine, do the 'binding fold' put it back under the needle and continue on to the next corner. I think cutting the thread at the corner helps with a neat turn. I use Super Bob's Superior thread from the pre-wound bobbins (www.superiorthreads.com). Being thinner it 'sinks' into the fabric better and hides the stitches really well.
