Here is the quilt I made for my niece Maggie. It is the fist quilt that I pieced and the fourth that I have quilted. Not happy with the binding, but it is only the fourth one I have tried and the third that I tried to machine sew the binding on both sides by using the SID method. I do alright when I had stitch the back.

I am a little worried about your lawn, though. Looks a bit dry.

Yes it does look dry, but the dirt is moist underneath. We just had a small snow and freeze melt off a Thursday.

Hi Liz, Your quilt is great, especially for a first one. Are you already planning your next one? I see you are in Lubbock, my DD and SIL are in Lubbock and I am missing them...why am I telling you that? LOL Sorry, hope you understand!

Very nice - and so many squares - I don't think my cutting would have lasted!

Elisabrat 02-16-2010 07:31 AM

now that is one happy quilt. Not for moping around feeling bad with at all. Very beautiful. Binding is a specialty I think. I get a bit better some of the time and then other times I completely forget what was the best method for me and go back to the one I learned in class on which sucks and half way through I think AH HECK I was supposed to.. and well those end up with interesting bound edges and I chalk it up to something I am going to remember (one day).

I think she will treasure it for years to come. I like how happy the colors are. As a new-ewwwww quilter myself, don't be too hard on Yourself, we'll get better, we will, we will get better, and eh, if we don't, we can still enjoy the journey.

JUNEC 02-17-2010 05:27 PM
