Oh what a lovely treasure for your sister. I am sorry about your mother. I lost mine just after the twin towers fell. It is hard to deal with it still.
I also love irises. I have a stand that are the most unusual garnet brown and yellow. A gift from the painter's who painted my house. I shared some fuchsia purple ones with him for his dad's garden and he sent these.. They of course have multiplied like crazy. Time to lift them this autumn. |

I have some perennial Irises in my garden, hardy Algerian Iris....they bloom on short stems during our winter (now)...a real little patch of cheer on grey days. |
