i am so happy with this quilt :)
the backing is so ---fabulous! the pictures just don't show how great it turned out- you will just have to take my word for it- this one i just did all over meandering leaves over the top of the quilt then bound it with black- i don't know why - but i think it worked |
Well, I think this quilt is fun! There are so many neat things to look at! I really like the back too. So, is it one you are keeping? I hope so.

Wow! I love every little thing about this quilt! Did you make the pattern up yourself? Love it! And the fabrics just glow! The batiks are awesome... especially that backing fabric! My DH would absolutely drool over this gem! Thanks for sharing with us!

Love the whole thing, but my grandson (10) wouldn't say it was a man-cave quilt because of the purple, you know at that age, they get picky.lol Love the back too, awesome colors.

thanks everyone === and to answer a couple questions---
'are you keeping it?' no---it was a special request from a dear friend who had just ordered new furniture for the 'man-cave'---they did not want sports stuff & are not hunters---but it's for the cabin in the woods---my (attempt) to make an out-doorsy - sunset quilt 'did you use a pattern?' no--- i gathered up a basket of scraps- old panal pieces- what ever caught my eye---- & started cutting- laying out on the floor- constructing blocks---working more on trying to get it a certain size---so if a piece i wanted to add was not the right size- added or subtracted to make it fit... the 2 rows of actual pieced blocks are disappearing 9-patches- just turned in a way that is not always seen. layed on floor- adding to it til it all came together. i am soooo in love with the backing! i want to figure out a new quilt that really uses some of that---have a couple strips leftover for my next scrappy :) |
