Those are awesome!!!! I love chickens!

Riley 08-01-2008 01:04 PM

 Melissa, ya' can't trust any of these people, now can you? Every time I come here, someone else gives a link & I am off looking & first thing you know, the fingers are a'twitching & something else is ordered. SIGH

I did get that bolt of Economy Cloth & WOWSER!! Fast service & I totally DELIGHTED with the quality!
I had as fast service from them as I have had with credit cards. They do not do the plastic, checks or money orders only. I sent a check, thinking it would be 2 or 3 weeks. 6 days after mailing from Texas to Maryland, the bolt was delivered by UPS! Nice people to do business with. (THANKS Marcia!!!)

I LUV your new fabric, especially that CW Repo!

Riley

mgshaw 08-01-2008 01:12 PM

Hey Riley I went to Hobby Lobby today and they had some of the good muslin back in!!! Yipeee!!!! I bought 6 yards just to have on hand, Probably should have bought the whole bolt but since I had already spent a bundle for this stuff on line I figured I better stop there.

Harmony 08-01-2008 01:19 PM

Marcia, I think we should claim FULL credit! The girl is good at what she does, and I'm sure she'll turn those fabrics into something special!

Ok I will only use the Blame aspect of it if DH should decide to throw a fit about my purchases this week!

Riley 08-01-2008 01:24 PM

Melissa, glad you got the muslin at Hob Lob. No telling when I would have any one to stay with DH so I am happy to have this bolt that I have. I rarely get a chance to leave the house.

I am frothing to do a Seven Sisters. Now the decision is WHAT to do it in? Scraps, 1930 Repos, etc etc? Hey, I have the background!!!!

So, what'cha gonna do with your roosters/hens? Something lovely I already know!

Riley

jacquemoe 08-01-2008 01:39 PM

Loretta, it is a great site! lots of different lines of 1800's fabric. I also use it as a reference for some of the sites that dont tell what era a particular line is from especially when they are on sale.

Marcia 08-01-2008 07:02 PM

Okay, Melissa-If Harmony is going to take the credit then I guess I will just be the one to take the blame. Tell DH it is all my fault because I sent those chicken fabrics and got you going!!

I love the ones you bought-recognize some from my quilt-others are brand new to me. FUN!!!

I love the CW repros too. Yummy!!!!

I gotta check out this Bonnie Blue web site. Looks like I may be spending more money!!

Riley-I am sooo glad you are happy with your ecology cloth. You made me so nervous when you said you ordered a whole bolt just on my recommendation-and you don't know me from Adam!!! LOL

mamatobugboo 08-01-2008 07:25 PM

I made a pledge that I wouldn't buy anymore fabric until my GMQ frame arrived in September and BOY am I regretting that now after seeing the Williamsburg Centennial fat quarter bundle at Bonnie Blue!! Thanks for the temptation LADIES (and gents)!!

mamatobugboo 08-01-2008 07:26 PM

i've never been drawn to chicken fabric, but I love your selection! PLEASE post pictures when you begin and finish your quilt!!

My original intentions were to make just a wall hanging with the chickens but... I think with all the patterns I found on line and with all the fabric, I will be making a large quilt! These chickens are addicting too!

gcathie 08-01-2008 07:29 PM

aren't those cute....I like chickens too....kitchen is decked out in them and the top of my cuboards might hold one or two more and one cabinet is full too...oh there just laying and hatching and crowing everywhere....I could use some placemats.....

Beautiful fabrics-and that chicken quilt looks like fun---well--for you. It makes me smile. :D

And, ah, Melissa--I do believe it was you who sent me to Bonnie Blue about a month ago--so you see it's true--what goes around, comes around.

I can't wait to see what you make!!

Harmony 08-02-2008 05:48 AM

HA! Melissa, I think the appropriate phrase here is that you were "hoist on your own petard!" I know, it's a weird phrase, but I love it that you are just as guilty as the rest of us in encouraging "fabric delinquency"!

Butterflyspain 08-02-2008 05:51 AM

Love the fabrics Melissa, those chickens are cute. Looked at the quilt and see why you got hooked, its just so funny it made me laugh.

The CW fabrics are lovely.

Sorry maybe I wasn´t supposed to laugh   I loved it.

They are the bundles, about 1/2 way down the page. But they have them by the yard too.

Bevanger 08-03-2008 04:37 AM

I never was much into chickens other then baby chicks, but I gotta admit, I sure like those.. Great fabrics

Marcia 08-03-2008 09:29 AM

Oh-I feel so guilty now-I have never been an enabler before! But I have to admit that I am flattered to be your chicken inspiration! You go, Melissa-get these women fired up-you could have a "eggs"-citing time making chicken quilts-it would give you something to crow about!

mgshaw 08-03-2008 09:53 AM

Aw Marcia, you can enable me any time

bearpaw 08-03-2008 12:19 PM
