matthew's quilt

My son Matt said he would love a flannel quilt when I asked him about it. So I had two pieces of flannel in standard plaid kind of flannel and then went through all the scrap stuff I had of flannel. Picked up the yellow to brighten it up. Then just started making strips and squares. When the center was done, I had to figure out something for the border. found the chocolate brown at Joanns. Miss figured how much I needed so used some of the other to make the corners. smile. This is just the top as I need to do some piecing to have enough for the back. using a flannel sheet inside and will tie it. I think it came out pretty good for something I just made up as I went along. Now his big brother wants one too. Back to the boxes and thrift stores. LOL....

That's a pretty flannel quilt. I just love flannel. It is so warm and cosy. I am in the process of making a flannel quilt kit I got from Keepsake Quilting. Yours turned out nice. I have wondered if batting will make it too heavy.

Very pretty flannel quilt. Men seam to love a flannel one. My husband and son fight over the flannel throw I made...they even informed me that I need to make another one!
