Really beautiful. In fact, really beautiful doesn't begin to compliment you on your work. I have only done a couple of simple applique projects. I can't see any of your applique stitches. Did you hand applique? You have excited me to try some.

If she did it the way McKenna does it, it is all fused on and then machine stitched around the edges of the pieces. Hundreds of pieces in this block.

Your right I haven't sewn any ofthe fabric down yet I know have to straight stitch all the pieces down. I am going to need alot of patience espically since I still have the other 7 blocks more to stitch as well. I used steam a seam 2 as fusible webbing so everthing is just ironed down at the moment.

Beautiful! I wish at least one of our LQS's would carry her patterns and offer some classes. I bought one of the farm blocks to try when I was at Paducah.

I would LOVE to say my daughter had created this but she was just holding the block for me. Jennelle loves to sew so hopefully she will be creating mckenna ryan projects soon.

Jackie could Jennelle have a word with Megan about sewing? PLEASE!!!! lol

gal288 02-14-2011 02:44 PM

Beautiful block, lovely daughter.

Tip on sewing,, use varigated thread when you can it's so much easier than changing all the time.

jdiane318 02-14-2011 02:49 PM

I have made 8 of her patterns. The only thing I feel that is necessary is very accurate cutting and a very fine pair of scissors. If your cutting is off, your pic won't have the same affect.
